What comes with the Fusion Splicer?
When you purchase a fusion splicer from DBtek, it is sold as a complete kit that includes a cleaver. Details about the cleaver included with each splicer can be found on the individual product pages. If you need additional cleavers, they are also available for separate purchase.
Core Alignment vs Cladding Alignment
A core alignment splicer aligns the fibers by precisely positioning the cores before fusion, resulting in lower loss and making it ideal for singlemode systems.
In contrast, a cladding alignment splicer aligns only the cladding of the fibers, which can cause core misalignment if the fibers are not perfectly concentric, leading to higher loss. This type is generally suitable for multimode systems but not recommended for singlemode applications.
